The startup aims to solve some of the world’s most pressing challenges by bridging the gap between the laboratory and the market, unleashing the potential of quantum computing.
Quantum Rings makes quantum computing practical and accessible to a broad audience. Its flagship product, the Quantum Rings SDK, offers a powerful quantum simulator which sets a new standard for developers. This simulation technology can accurately execute quantum circuits of unparalleled scale and complexity on existing classical hardware as the first step in developing a quantum algorithm. The Quantum Rings SDK addresses the high costs, long wait times, and other limitations that have historically restricted access to quantum computing, enabling more developers to build and deploy quantum applications with zero wait times and zero per-use costs.
“Quantum computing holds the promise to revolutionize numerous fields, from discovering drugs that can cure previously incurable diseases, to solving optimization problems currently beyond our reach and training smarter AI with fewer natural resources,” said Venkat Kasirajan, cofounder. “However, this promise remains largely unfulfilled, confined to research labs and out of reach for millions of innovators and disruptors poised to develop the quantum solutions that could change the world.”
The company’s approach combines the best aspects of small-scale simulators and real quantum computers, providing higher fidelity and lower error rates while being significantly more cost-effective. Unlike other simulators that cap qubit counts and often crash when running complex circuits, Quantum Rings can handle much larger and more intricate quantum algorithms, making it an invaluable tool for developers and researchers.
Initial feedback from beta users has been positive, and the team is now shifting its focus from technology development to building the credibility and brand necessary to engage the right users. Looking further ahead, Quantum Rings hopes their platform is at the forefront of quantum innovation, with a robust ecosystem of developers, researchers, and businesses using their tools to solve some of the world’s most pressing challenges.
“While the journey to widespread acceptance involves overcoming significant skepticism and resource constraints, the positive feedback from those who have engaged with our technology is encouraging,” said Bob Wold, cofounder. “We are committed to continuing to build credibility, refine our solutions, and demonstrate the transformative potential of Quantum Rings in the quantum computing landscape.”
The company was born out of the shared vision of Wold and Kasirajan, two seasoned technology leaders with over 50 years of combined experience in bringing cutting-edge innovations to market. Their partnership began a decade ago during the successful exit of Kasirajan’s previous startup, where they discovered a powerful synergy together with a great blend of different, yet complementary, skills. The two remained in touch and worked together to create applied quantum technologies in various industries. Wold would eventually retire, but was inspired to return to the workplace when Kasirajan made a breakthrough discovery in quantum circuit simulation. Together, they cofounded Quantum Rings.
